Released in the UK just one month ago, Argonne 2002 is the latest wine from Champagne Henri Giraud, and it's available by the glass exclusively at the award-winning Bar Boulud, at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London.

I'm looking for character and an approach that sets a wine apart from its peers. This is why I am so happy to offer Champagne Henri Giraud Argonne 2002 by the glass. It's an exceptional wine made by a family with deep roots in their land, completely in tune with the fantastic Aÿ terroir: One taste of this and you realise that this is a wine from a privileged place - ripe and full flavoured, powerful even, yet subtle complex and beautifully balanced.
My desire is to make fine wines more accessible. A Bar Boulud trademark is offer fine wines from large format bottles by the glass, and to offer the Argonne 2002 by the glass, means more people can enjoy a special glass of wine without having to buy a full bottle. I'm really looking forward to introducing this wine to our guests, given it's a premium product in the by the glass category, it's a bit of a gamble in some ways, but I'm confident that it will be well received.
At Bar Boulud naturally the food is very important - in London we have taken a little from each of Chef Daniel Boulud's enterprises in New York and brought them together. Bar Boulud is a French-inspired bistro featuring a full menu based on seasonal, rustic French cooking, including an array of charcuterie specially prepared onsite by a world class Charcutier.
We have a good mix of customers here - regulars from London, walk-in Clients, and guests from the hotel, many of them come to us just to enjoy our wines, which is a great satisfaction to me. The wine list is evolving constantly, it is focussed on Burgundy, where I grew up, but also on the Rhône Valley from where Daniel Boulud draws much of his inspiration. Here in London, we have approximately 600 different wines on list. Of course we also offer great cocktails too, and a carefully selected range of craft beers from microbreweries.
At Bar Boulud we want people to enjoy our great food and wines with really good service in the relaxed, elegant atmosphere of a contemporary London restaurant and bar.
